  3. $1395 – All-Inclusive Beach Wedding Package!

St. John Weddings could be the most beautiful weddings in the known universe.  I’m at least willing to argue that point with anyone that differs! (Make sure to see my St. John Weddings Guide to learn more about hosting your wedding here.)

But the dream of a destination wedding can get a little complicated when you start reading about all the different wedding planners, beaches, resorts, etc…not to mention the Tripadvisor reviews and countless wedding forums and facebook groups.

st. John beach weddingAren’t destination weddings supposed to be easy?  Isn’t that the whole point of flying 2,000 miles away to an island, to have a relaxing and easy wedding on a beach somewhere?

For some reason though, everything about destination weddings seems way too stressful.

Most wedding planners (except my wife of course) and resorts all charge big $$$.  And they try to get you to spend more money on more flowers, more cake, more photography…which means you’re even more stressed and freaked out.

But trust me, it doesn’t have to be that way.

That’s why I created…

…the easiest, most beautiful wedding packages imaginable for St. John.

My wedding packages are designed for couples who want a simplestress-free and elegant destination wedding or vow renewal in St. John.

Hawksnest Beach St. John

At one point my wife let me have a beard. Needless to say, I don’t have those beautiful white whiskers anymore.

*If you really want to hire a wedding planner or overpay at a resort, let them know that you’d like “Island Mike” to be your officiant and your planner can take care of all of the details.

**Just because I made these packages as simple as possible, each one of them is fully customizable.  If you have a vendor or specific decor you like, I can get you an exact quote.  For example, if you want a cake, I’ll forward the size and flavors you like to my favorite baker for a price and then let you know.  But in reality, 90% of my couples choose one of the packages above.

Please feel free to compare any one of the packages above with a package from a wedding planner or resort planner.

Your ceremony is my biggest contribution to your wedding day.  So I want it to be perfect.  I like to get your input via email or a phone call so I can design the unforgettable wedding ceremony wording.

I am an ordained Non-Denominational Minister so I can perform religious wedding ceremonies

I can perform a civil, non-religious ceremony

If I had my way, every ceremony would be personalized for each couple.  But most brides and grooms don’t have the time and energy to map out a wedding ceremony with me, so I instead try to incorporate a few meaningful words personal to the couple.  I also highly recommend you add vows, a declaration of love, a poem or a unity ceremony to make the ceremony your own.

Transportation is relatively easy on St. John.  It’s not a large island and taxis are always just a few minutes away to pick you up.  If you choose to rent a car, you’ll find the island easy to navigate…once you get used to driving on the left.

If you are staying on St. Thomas and want a St. John wedding, there are 2 ways to get over to St. John.  Every hour, on the hour, a passenger ferry will take you from Red Hook in St. Thomas to Cruz Bay in St. John.  The ferry ride is about 15 minutes.  They have an open air section on the top deck which is my favorite place to sit.  You get amazing views and the wind is glorious.  But since you’d probably be in a wedding dress and have your hair done, they do have an air-conditioned cabin as well.

Once in Cruz Bay, there are taxis right at the dock to take you to any beach.

There is also a car ferry.  The schedule is spotty and unreliable, but if you give yourself enough time, you can have the convenience of your own car.

If you decide to stay at the beach or other wedding venue after the ceremony, there are taxis waiting to take you back to Cruz Bay and the passenger ferry.

If you have guests that require transportation, please let me know and I’ll line up taxis for your group of 10, 20 or 100 or more!

When the ceremony is over, and I’ve announced you as a married couple, I sign your marriage license.  The signed license is then filed back at the courthouse.  Please don’t worry, you don’t have to go back to the courthouse.

I file it for you and mail you 2 certified copies.  It takes about 2 weeks for you to receive them.

The entire marriage application process is spelled out in painful detail here: How to Get Married in the Virgin Islands.

Most of my St. John wedding couples schedule a stop at the courthouse on the day they arrive in St. Thomas.  The courthouse is right on the way from the airport to the ferry.  Let your taxi driver know you need to make the stop and they’ll wait for you while you pick up your license (the taxi driver will charge you extra).

5. SHELL & PALM FROND AISLEshell and palm aisle for a beach wedding

Have your bride walk down a lovely aisle made of giant conch shells and Areca Palm fronds.  A simple, yet stunning addition to set the stage for your wedding.

Obviously this works best for a beach wedding.  If you choose a venue other than a beach, other decor options are available.

bouquet and bride in st johnOne of our local florists, Jessica with Roses Too, designs amazing floral bouquets and boutonnieres for my couples.  Just let me know the colors and flowers you like and Jessica will “wow” you with her artistic talents.

Most floral options are included, but if you require a ‘rare’ or out of season flower, there may be an additional small cost.

If you require additional bouquets or boutonnieres for bridesmaids and groomsmen, let me know and I’ll get you a quote.

If your package includes a bamboo arch, a great idea is to add some floral accents, which I can also get prices for.

As a wedding officiant, I try to bring joy, excitement and beauty to everyone of my ceremonies.  After the ceremony, my couples like to enjoy intimate and meaningful moments together while celebrating their new marriage.

A simple, yet lovely, way to celebrate is to share a little champagne!  The pop of the cork and the refreshing bubbly is a tradition at weddings everywhere.

I’ll bring the ice, champagne bucket, champagne flutes and a bottle of champagne for up to 6 guests.  If you would prefer you can instead choose either sparkling cider or grape juice.

Additional bottles are $20 for champagne and $15 for sparkling juice.

the mango works photography in st thomas and st johnProfessional photography on St. John typically starts at $600 per hour.  With my St. John wedding packages you get an hour of photography from The Mango Works.  Your hour of photography begins about 10 minutes before your beach wedding.

Most of my wedding ceremonies last about 15 minutes.  Which leaves plenty of time after the ceremony to get pictures of you (and family/friends) on the beach.

Your photographer will take anywhere between 80-100 pictures.  You will have complete ownership of the images for printing and sharing.

Additional hours are charged at $400 per hour.

Most of my couples hire me because they want a stress free and joyous ceremony.  And, of course, you don’t plan a destination wedding without dreaming of a gorgeous setting on a beach.

And trust me, the sand, palm trees and blue waters of St. John beaches are as beautiful of a wedding venue as you can imagine.bamboo arch for beach wedding

I’m not a huge fan of huge weddings with lots of bells and whistles on the beach.  It sort of takes away from the natural beauty of it all.  But, I think the prettiest weddings I’ve performed, have included an authentic bamboo arch.

A bamboo arch blends seemlessly with the natural surroundings and provides a timeless accent for your wedding ceremony.

My wedding packages are guaranteed to set the stage for a beautiful ceremony if you want simple and elegant.

If you have other ideas or inspiration for your wedding, I can oblige.

A few options couples have requested:
